Degraders

Ihere’s something about the DIY scene’s unadulterated charm that adds a genuine look into music. The recording methods are so raw that the sounds created are completly original and, thus, gives the songs total freedom from ambiguity (which I love!). Meet Degraders. This no-fi outfit from San Antonio (I’m making an educated guess here), is just as mysterious as the tunes they’re spitting out. Very minimal but with enough balls to stretch out and experiment with different vocal and sound effects. So far, they only have enough material publicly available to be counted on one hand. However, they are in the makings of a cassette tape, Psychedellic Friends, to be released sometime in the near future.

The tracks that they’ve been cool enough to share with me have caught my attention and I’m sure, with time, other heads will be turning in eager anticipation.
