The 1964 Charles Mingus Quintet teamed together the unique multi-instrumentalist Eric Dolphy, tenor-saxophonist Clifford Jordan, pianist Jaki Byard,drummer Dannie Richmond and the bassist/leader in one of the great bands of the 1960s. There are many recordings currently available from their European tour 1964 and all are worth acquiring including these two excellent sets....
